video: Northwest Dance Project: Help Build Our New Home
Tuesday, December 16, 2014
The storage unit and equipment at Northwest Dance Project was completely destroyed last week after a broken water main flooded the unit with 14 inches of water. Their sprung floor, audio equipment, furniture, sets, costumes, and other belongings were all ruined.
Northwest Dance needs your help to quickly replace the audio equipment and sprung floor. You can support their Indiegogo campaign, and help them reach their goal of $22,000.
They will also be moving into their new 8,500 square foot home at NE 10th and Davis. It will feature two spacious sprung dance studios, fully equipped company dressing room, and open lobby. You can join the construction crew and provide vital resources for the new space, here.
Northwest Dance Project was founded by award winning choreographer Sarah Slipper in 2004. Since then, Northwest Dance has shown over 170 original contemporary ballets by emerging dance makers. They also provide classes for youth, teens, and adults in various styles like Jazz, Hip Hop, and Core Balance. Northwest Dance seeks to reach new audiences through dance, by performing at special events, outdoor performances, and collaborations with other local artists of other performing arts.
